Embarking on creating a memorable hens party is always an exciting challenge. When the opportunity arose to infuse a touch of Colombian charm into the celebration, it became an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. Krystal, the brilliant mind behind the festivities, enlisted our services for a salsa dance class, setting the stage for a night filled with Latin rhythms. In one of our early conversations, Krystal mentioned Carolina, the hen, was, in fact, a Colombian now residing in Melbourne, and I immediately knew I wanted to share some of my own ideas if she was open. Krystal's vision for the hens party was clear: to create an evening brimming with the vibrant energy of salsa dancing. Entrusted with the task, we arranged a lively salsa dance class, including two dancers who performed a Salsa in costume and a fun beginners Salsa dance class. This ideal icebreaker would set the tone for the festivities ahead. Carolina and her friends eagerly embraced the rhythmic beats, learning the art of salsa under the guidance of our passionate instructors Siri and Adam. Laughter, camaraderie, and the joy of dancing filled the studio, setting the stage for an incredible night.
I asked Krystal if they had organised somewhere for dinner yet, and when she said she hadn't, I suggested one of Melbourne's best Colombian restaurants, La Tienda in Windsor.
She loved the idea and booked a table for after the class. To ensure the night was nothing short of spectacular, I secured a charming studio at HD Entertainment within walking distance of our chosen Colombian restaurant, La Tienda. The dance studio provided the perfect ambience for the ladies to immerse themselves in the world of salsa before they headed off to enjoy the flavours from Carolina's origins.
I then contacted some of my friends and connections to see what Latin parties were on the same date and sent Krystal a list of options so they could choose where they wanted to finish dancing the night away, keeping in line with the theme of the evening. Celebrating Carolina with fusing things from her culture.
We managed to find one event that offered the party a complimentary bottle of champagne and a booth and another that offered the party free entry for the attendees of the hens.
Even though Carolina is from Colombia and a Salsa dance class at her hens party made sense, Salsa dance classes are actually the most popular requested dance class at hen parties, regardless of where the bride-to-be is from. There's something about the high vibes of salsa that fits for this type of occasion, and we're not mad about it, that's for sure!
